Conditions Continue To Look Grim

As I write this,

Day 20

of being with my kids nonstop

is waning.

*Calgon, take me away!*
*Calgon, take me away!*

Tomorrow’s dawn

will bring with it

Day 21

2947fe63-3fcc-4a83-9c08-5bc53f6ba025

Tensions are running high

and frustrated tears are appearing at

closer and closer

intervals.

*I don't care who started it, but I'm going to finish it!*
*I don’t care who started it, but I’m going to finish it!*

Son is determined

to channel my older brother

*pull my finger...*
*pull my finger…*

while Daughter’s voice

has taken on a shrill pitch

that only Professor Xavier would encourage.

*make it S.T.O.P.*
*make it S.T.O.P.*

My steps vacillate between

life-saving computer and X-Box timer

with the daze of a zombie

(or lovesick fangirl)

"rescue me! oh take me in your arms, rescue me!"
“rescue me! oh take me in your arms, rescue me!”

I hold out hope that dangerous winter temperatures

will rise tomorrow…

allowing me to push the kids outside

and lock the door!

*Mommy's busy trying out a new hobby*
*Mommy’s busy trying out a new hobby*

I will continue to hold out hope,

it’s the only thing

(along with various Richard Armitage fanvids)

that is keeping me sane.

on a more positive note:

we now have Ketchup!

  1. wow! Lots of hand porn in those pics!! Sorry you’re in the midst, but just think about us poor slobs who have to trek thru the sub-zero temps to get to the office! Yikes! Thanks for the pretty pics! It all helps! 😀

  2. Thanks for the funny text/image match ups, as usual.
Those school holiday dramas are a thing of the past for me now, but boy, are they ever a clear memory!
Stay strong, Kelbel, you have my sympathies.

  3. I really enjoyed this post. Smiled the whole time I was reading it. Good luck with the igloo. It may not last long. Twenty-one days – wow. How many times did you make cookies?

    1. I wasn’t at home with the kids or by myself with them for those whole 21 days 😉 a good portion of it was spent visiting relatives and traveling. Son (who is 13) has been getting extremely bored tho, so he fills up his time by either teasing his sister or being all teenage drama queen 🙄 there is only room for one drama queen in this house, and Daughter fills that role nicely 😀
if we made cookies, I would eat them…all…so that’s not really something I want to do after all the junk I’ve eaten over the last two months 😯 I *should* walk out all my frustrations on the treadmill, but I’ll just complain about it instead 😛
I’m glad you enjoyed the post though; this blog keeps me sane 😎

  4. Rub a little rum on their gums, that will calm them down…
OK, I’m joking and I don’t actually have kids and I am not around either so no one call child services 😉

    1. mine are 9yrs.& 13yrs, rum on the gums isn’t going to work 😉 although if I just give them the whole bottle… 😆 I don’t even have rum, so don’t worry 😛

  5. btw, the igloo idea has fallen through 😕 Daughter was rolling around in the snow for about 15 minutes and came back in, complaining that her butt was frozen. so now it’s popcorn, hot chocolate, and a viewing of The Hobbit instead 😎

  6. Not sure why I miss some of your hilarious posts in my reader. Hm. Anyway, good thing that Agzy had this in her round-up.
You know, I have been having exactly the same issues here. My kids are just like yours (a couple of years older) and the lack of me-time is driving me demented. Weird, considering that it is now so much easier than it was when they were little. We shall conquer it!

    1. WordPress has been malfunctioning on me all week, so it doesn’t surprise me that it’s messed up for you. do you have the settings for my blog marked as receiving posts “instantly”? sometimes those settings get mysteriously switched for the blogs I follow 😕
anyways, I think when the kids get older we just assume they can entertain themselves. my husband was like “well, do something with them so they’re not as bored” isn’t that why we bought them all of those electronics?! 😛

      1. oooh, there are follower settings??? WP is not my forte (I am a Blogspot enthusiast). I’ll check that out. Thanks for the pointer, Kel!
As for kids and electronics – right on *haha*.

        1. yes, off to the right (I originally said “left”; it’s Saturday, I’m not awake yet 😛 ) hand side of your reader there is a menu item called “blogs I follow”. hit the edit button for that, and a list of all the blogs you follow will appear. just hit edit for any particular blog and you can say how often you want to receive posts from that blog 😀
